91 artistes, groupes, collectifs à avoir, une fois encore, répondu à l'appel du project 168, entre le 13 et le 20 Avril 2009 et dont la règle du jeu est très clairement définie par "vous faites un EP en une semaine". Certains de ces artistes sont connus voir reconnus ( niteffect, Joyrex, ten fingers ten toes, Dissolved, Jaffa kid ...) d'autres le sont moins, mais gagnent évidement à le devenir, d'autres enfin sont simplement cachés derrière un alias de circonstance, mais tous, absolument TOUS, ont ceci de commun, incarner ce que pourrait être, aussi, la scène netaudio, une scène nourrie par des artistes attentifs à investir de nouveaux territoires, prospectifs et ludiques, riches d'une même "créa(c)tivité", remplis d'une sensualité de l'instant, d'une urgence enfin en phase avec un medium fluctuant, des artistes momentanément détachés des circuits et usages si traditionnels de trop nombreux labels - Pour toutes ces raisons, Project 168 est une véritable leçon d'intelligence, un laboratoire d'idées qui inspire le respect et toujours autant d'intense jubilation.

fascinating testimony of another time, where even concrete music was fully weird and totally abstract, the story of these historical recordings of Miss Shapero is the one of an Alice in wonderland. that story is also made of that typical fascination for the machines that you may found in any text and archives from those quite early days of electronic music - a time where "creation & technic" were both still magical and often expressed by a spark, a time where workshops and creation labs were coveted by other authentical multimedia artists sincerely loving creation, and less desired by artists of finance. "my name is marietta cashman" is a real delicacy, one of those with a very particular taste of jubilant discoveries for the creator and the listener, no pretence in there. this release is a perfect invitation for sharing ideas, welcome Mademoiselle Cashman.

Cursed Chimera :: glitch path

Coup double pour le label pékinois bypass - après le salutaire et plus que parfait "infinite caustic change", nous voici à nouveau plongés dans la maestria glitch de Cursed Chimera. S'il peut se féliciter d'être toujours abonné à la même effervescence générative de superlatifs, ajoutons que, cette fois, le spectre s'est de plus en plus élargi, au point d'inquiéter les bords extérieurs de l'écran présentement en face de vous. Enfin, si Benatos Thompson peut sembler particulièrement pressé d'en découdre, et ce n'est pas le cadet de ses talents, devons-nous l'informer qu'il est d’ores et déjà installé dans la cour des grands ?

d'incise :: morsure souffle

la densité et la matière, retour en force du réel, aucune illusion mais de très nombreuses (et toujours aussi denses) allusions, la lumière est soudainement tangible et entichée d'une épaisseur très particulière. D'incise nous convie à une étonnante flânerie sans équivoque, riche en sensations, mais en celà nous savions l'homme aguerri de longue date. Véritable ouvrage d'un plasticien sonore, "morsure souffle" ne doit pas être rangé sur une étagère, mais placé bien en évidence, toujours à portée d'oreille, car cette musique est utile.

Ohrchitekt :: snakeseed

entrave foudroyante et post baroque (flamboyant), c'est assez probable mais que nenni d'un quelconque étouffement. Le snakeseed de Carsten Lehmann aka Ohrkitekt est pluriel et facétieux à souhait. sommes-nous soumis à l'attractivité de tubes à éprouvettes manipulés sans précautions par un anthropologue hybride et mutant ? c'est (entre autres) l'une des nombreuses hypothèses - rassurons-nous, gardons le cap, Ohrchitekt confirme un "human interest" plus épique que délicat mais c'était bien avant "honk song" aux implosantes conséquences cataclysmiques - quand enfin, le langage passe en phase ohrchikulation, on improvise des "silly walks", n'est pas python ... maniaque ou graine de snakologue distingué qui veut.

GOMO PaRK :: dreiton.net ep

le trop discret netlabel dreiton accomplit des prodiges ( précipitez-vous sur les compilations du label) tel ce magnifique ouvrage du trio GOMO ParK et éponyme du label. MM Carsten Netz, Michael Deak, Jörg Bielfeldt ne font pas semblant de revisiter les grandes heures d'un krautrock flamboyant, car ils n'en sont plus là - Savant dosage d'improvisation dument quadrillée par de très bonnes intentions, GOMO PaRK offre une écriture sensible et particulièrement séduisante, et l'on ne se fait pas longtemps prier pour s'y laisser prendre.

this update (new encoding and different artwork) of AI, is an excellent opportunity for listeners to correct their absence when the release was originally done last year, and then, to discover an electropop pearl which makes sense, including for nostalgics of the genre - also author of "analogue monologue" for the hungarian well known Syrup netlabel, Retax Gorgon is a too rare artist.

Celer :: engaged touches

Désolé mais, en ce moment, je suis ab-sent !
absent, car plongé dans d'incertains méandres d’archives mémorielles afin d’y puiser le possible souvenir d’une aussi enthousiasmante envie de faire pleuvoir toutes les éloges sur les «engaged touches » du duo Celer pour le récent, et assez formidable label Home Normal. Cette réalisation, construite en 2 parties, n’a de cesse de jouer au parfois difficile dilemme de confrontation entre abstraction chronique et réalité sommaire. Ainsi, peu ou totalement partie prenante de la grande métaphore abstraite, « engaged touches » touche à la perfection d’un genre rébarbatif car finalement assez peu innovant. Si Celer avait décidé d’écrire une nouvelle page, ils ne s’y seraient pas pris autrement. Du grand art, du TRES grand art !
